Got No Wheels

Journal Entry: Mon Dec 31, 2007, 11:14 AM
:lmao:

My van was stolen on Christmas day while I was away visiting family. Doesn't that suck? I filed a police report the next day. I'm pretty sure since I haven't found it yet that I won't find it. But if I do, it'll be really fucked up I bet. Apparently, most stolen cars are returned within 72 hours, after that it's not as likely.

I did find out that my van is worth something though. $380. It would cost me more money to donate/scrap it than the value of what the fucking thing's actually worth. Maybe this is a good thing? I just hope I didn't leave anything in the van that could be used against me, like in identity theft. I'm paranoid so I tried to keep the van free of personal papers save my insurance and registration stuff. There was my CD player and a box full of X-Files VHS tapes from seasons 1-4 (just ~15 random tapes, not the whole seasons). There was a "No Parking" sign I stole from many years ago. And there was a huge stack of cardstock (A2) I had in the back for whatever future project might need them. That last one kind of blows...

The head gasket was blown and the block was well on it's way to crack any time. They couldn't have gotten too far.

Anyway, I'm taking the bus from now on.

thats nasty. I always have nightmares that I'm gonna step out of the house and find my little car stolen. Thing is my car's so shitty that nobody would even want to break into it

My car was horrid. Engine block was probably cracked actually. I knew the van was headed toward the junk yard in the sky, and very soon. But the outside was rusted, grimy, scratched and just mistreated. One of the back doors (the left) had a huge dent it in. (Hint: don't loan your car out) A semi ran off with my passenger

Basically, it looks like shit. It's so old and beat up that a real crook would think "easy target." No car alarm, obviously. On some older cars with power windows, the motor will wear out and you can pull the window down. Or you can just get a slimjim. That would work too.

But I still haven't heard anything about my van from the cops yet.

Thanks for the kind words. :D

Pssh, that's awful man.

There's been a weird chain of events involving stolen vans lately. Last week my friend Johnny had his van stolen after a gig he played [with his band] in Long Beach at this place called the Prospector... with the entire band's gear in it. All the gear was pre-1973, and the grand total net worth of all of it tallied up to like $19,500+.

It may be the same people who kidnapped your van. I'll keep you posted as soon as intel comes back.

Oh and thanks for reminding me: I need to replace my driver-side window on my Tempo (it's been shattered for two years now, and nothing has gone missing except a fake Rolex I got for $10 in Mexico).

KCK police or KCMO?

Neither that either are better than the other, tbh. :/

KCMO... I know they aren't smart. I got people on the inside dishing dirt. I am fucking shocked that this city hasn't turned into a ghost town yet. We fuck up a lot. Well, they do. Hence my van is still missing... Eh...
